Fanatic Spotlight: Run Your Best Life

The 2025–2026 Track Shack Running Series presented by AdventHealth, themed “Run Your Best Life,” kicks off on August 16th. Each step, each race, and each finish line brings us closer to becoming the best version of ourselves.

Through our Fanatic Spotlight, we celebrate the runners who embody this theme — those who find joy in the journey, stay committed through life’s ups and downs, and embrace the running community as part of their story.

From first-time racers to long-time Fanatics, these individuals show us that running isn’t just about pace or distance. It’s about pushing limits, creating traditions, and finding fulfillment in every mile. Join us as we highlight their journeys and get inspired to Run Your Best Life!

Scott's Journey: From "Not a Runner" to Breaking 3 Hours

Scott’s journey into running began in 2021, shortly after he completed his first marathon and visited Track Shack for a shoe fitting. That moment introduced him to the Running Series, and with encouragement from friends who were already Fanatics, he decided to join.

One of the things Scott appreciates most about being a Fanatic is seeing his growth across the season. Early-season races in the Florida heat can be humbling, but by spring, he often finds he’s improved not only from the previous year, but even within the season itself.

His biggest motivation comes from remembering where he started. “I never grew up a runner… I was the kid who refused to run laps in gym class.” Now, he runs almost daily and completes marathons in under three hours.

Scott’s story reminds us that growth doesn’t happen all at once — it builds quietly, race by race, season by season.

Krysia's Journey: Running with Joy and Purpose

For Krysia, running with Track Shack is more than logging miles — it’s a way to connect, spread joy, and embrace every moment. Whether she’s exchanging high fives with kids or catching air for race photographers, she brings contagious energy to every event.

She and her husband discovered the Track Shack Running Series Fanatic after moving to Orlando in 2017. Running gave them a way to explore their new city while deepening their bond.

“I am growing older, but I don't want to feel older,” she shares. “Running keeps me feeling young.”

For Krysia, every season brings growth, and she’s not slowing down anytime soon.

Rene's Journey: Taking Back His Health, One Mile at a Time

Rene began running in February 2024 after a painful personal experience pushed him to make a change. “Running gave me peace of mind and a sense of control over my body again,” he says.

With encouragement from friends and the Mind Over Miles community, Rene reversed diabetes, lowered his blood pressure and cholesterol, and found renewed strength in his 50s.

His journey is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to take control and run your best life.

Michelle's Journey: My Race, My Pace

Michelle didn’t start running until her 30s, but once she did, everything changed. “While I’m not fast, I will finish,” she says.

Running became something just for her — a personal outlet supported by the Track Shack community.

The upcoming Winter Park 10K will mark her 10th time running the race, with her husband and all three adult children joining her.

“My race, my pace.”

Leigh's Journey: Running with Heart, Purpose, and Passion

Leigh first connected with Track Shack through the Good Form Running clinic, then found a deeper purpose after signing up for the Watermelon 5K in 2023.

Since then, he’s completed more than 80 races, travels across Florida, and continues to find healing and joy through running.

Leigh’s story reminds us that running is about connection, resilience, and staying active with purpose.

Her favorite part of running is sharing it with loved ones — especially her brother and best friend. Running together has become their new normal.
